The sculptures made by students after visiting Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford have been biscuit fired and are now being glazed ready for their final firing.
Here they are waiting ready for oxides and glazes to be applied.
Mr Farlow came in to apply the surface treatments.
All of the sculptures made on the day survived the firing process.
This is a glaze being mixed up ready to use. A glaze is basically a mixture of minerals and sand. It is applied in a thin coat and when fired at high temperature turns into a hard glaze, like on your dinner ware. The sand in a glaze melts to form the thin glass like coating.
Oxides are also applied on, and rubbed back off to create different surface effects.
Here they are ready to go into the kiln for the final firing which will reach 1260 degrees. We will photograph the final pieces before they are returned to their owners to show you.
